Trudeau wrote on X that Happy Diwali. ‘Today, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain families will celebrate the victory of light over darkness with festivities, candles, lamps and fireworks. Wishing you all happiness and prosperity on this special occasion.
Hinduphobia at its peak across the country

Expressing a strong reaction to Trudeau’s statement, the Coalition of Hindus in North America (COHNA) said that while this statement is much needed, it has come at a time when Hinduphobia is at its peak across the country. We appreciate his words, but we remain cautiously optimistic given the action taken over the past three years to address Hindu issues in Canada.
