Taco Bell is going big for the 20th anniversary of the launch of Baja Blast, culminating in the arrival of its long-awaited Baja Blast gelato.

The “Bajaversary” will begin on Monday, July 29 with a one-day giveaway of a medium-sized Mountain Dew Baja Blast fountain drink or a regular Baja Blast Freeze. The offer is open to “everyone who’s in a Baja Blast mood,” according to a news release. At 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, there will be a merchandise drop on the Taco Bell app. The item is a Stanley x Bajaversary tumbler. The first 20 users to get one will be awarded free Baja Blast for a year. In fine print, that translates to a $200 Taco Bell gift card.
Finally, beginning Sept. 3, Taco Bell Rewards Members can finally purchase Baja Blast gelato nationwide through the app, the news release said.

The dessert was tested last August at a drive-thru near UC Irvine in Taco Bell’s hometown.

Baja Blast Pie, announced at a Taco Bell fan event in February, is coming later this year, according to Taco Bell representatives. The “Bajaversary” festivities kick off on July 29, when the chain will give away free medium-sized Mtn Dew Baja Blast fountain drink or regular-sized Baja Blast Freeze. The offer is only available for one day and can be redeemed at participating Taco Bell locations or via its app.

In August, Taco Bell will join the Stanley Cup craze with its own collaboration. The limited-edition Stanley x Bajaversary tumbler will be available via the Taco Bell app rather than in stores.

Reward members will have a chance to score one on Aug. 13. The first 20 customers to redeem one of the cups will receive free Baja Blasts for a year—in the form of a $200 gift card.Beginning on Sept. 3, Mtn Dew Baja Blast Gelato will hit menus nationwide after a limited-time testing run at Taco Bell’s Irvine location last summer. The frozen treat will be available exclusively for Taco Bell Rewards Members who order through the app.

But that’s not all. Taco Bell also teased that a Mtn Dew Baja Blast Pie will debut this year.

The chain will also continue its $1 happier hour, which runs daily from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Customers can enjoy $1 medium drinks and freezes. Free refills are also offered year-round when customers dine at the restaurant.

The Mountain Dew Baja Blast was created exclusively for Taco Bell and since its debut in 2004, the tropical lime-flavored soft drink has become a frequent addition to many customers orders.

To celebrate the Baja Blast’s 20th anniversary or “Bajaversary” the fast-food restaurant chain is offering the following deals:

Free Baja Blast drink: Baja Blast lovers can celebrate the Bajaversar by sipping on the turquoise-colored drink frozen, with ice or without for free only on July 29. Customers can order the medium-sized Baja Blast fountain drink or regular-sized Baja Blast Freeze at their local Taco Bell or order it through the Taco Bell app.

Stanley X Bajaversary Tumbler: If you want a Stanley cup and love the Baja Blast, this freebie is for you. On Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. PST in the Taco Bell app rewards members will have the chance to win a limited-edition Stanley X Bajaversary tumbler from the Tuesday Drop section. The first 20 customers to redeem one of the tumblers on the day of the drop will be able to enjoy free Baja Blast for a year.

Baja Blast Gelato: After a limited release in 2023, the Baja Blast Gelato will debut at Taco Bell’s across the country for a limited time only starting on Sept. 3 for rewards members. The gelato that is a creamy and delicious treat, will be available to Taco Bell Rewards Members in the Taco Bell app.

$1 Happier Hour: Baja Blast lovers can sip on their favorite drink for a dollar. Customers can order a $1 medium-sized Baja Blast fountain drink or regular-sized Baja Blast Freeze Every day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. In addition, Taco Bell also revealed that it plans to debut it’s Baja Blast Pie later this year.
